George Maple

Australian vocalist and musician George Maple made the move from Sydney in search of the underground music she loved and cherished. With a string of collaborative work exploring her love of soul, club music and more, George Maple's sound is one readymade for the current climate.

Having come to many people's attention via a guest spot with fellow Australian's Flight Facilities (under her real name Jess), the now UK resident has a knack for producing heartfelt, modern music for a generation that grew up on both Lauren Hill and Wookie, as perfected on 2013's 'Fixed'. A frequent collaborator, George's unique voice echoes her twin loves of nineties pop and Ella Fitzgerald, and it's in the latter influence that you find a quiet strength that aligns her fellow artists Jessie Ware or FKA Twigs.

Currently exploring a deep soul sound with UK producer Slime, and with an album's worth of material already written, 2014 looks to be a big year for the Londoner, with her work in the London studio looking to be her best yet.
