Comprising of El Nino, Ma-B, Redondo and Dla, Driemanskap hail from the Cape Flats township of Gugulethu. Pioneers of the Spaza movement, they represent Cape Town with a rhyme style that combines their mother tongue, isiXhosa, with English and Cape Flats slang.
The hype of their opening tune 'Craziness' sets the tone and energy for the performance, followed by the string heavy tribute to Gugulethu, 'S'phum'eGugs'. The performance features many of their best tracks spanning their 7 year career including the more melodic 'Soldier', the dreamy and electronic inspired 'eNantsikeni' and the grimey rawness of 'Rathatha', to name a a few.
Watch the stream of their explosive live performance right here and tune in to SABC 1 on Saturday at 22:00 to catch it on the SKL Urban Sessions.
